Biography
Edward Loftus was born in England.
Edward Loftus of Swineshead, County York born about 1500. [1]
Edward was the bailiff of the Abbey of Coverham.
Children:
- Robert (1533-1606) - Robert had a son Adam Loftus (1568-1643) appointed Lord Chancellor of Ireland in 1619 and created in 1622 Viscount Loftus of Ely.
- Adam - (1533-1605) - Archbishop of Armagh in 1562, then Archbishop of Dublin in 1567, major figure in English and Irish history.
Edward Loftus passed away in 1541. Edward left his estates to his son Robert Loftus.
