Biography
Sally Dyer was born on 21 Feb 1817 in New Sharon, Franklin, Maine. [1] Sally's parents are James Dyer and Betsey Dyer. [1] Sally Dyer married James Folsom in New Sharon, Franklin, Maine in front of a Justice of the Peace on May 28, 1836. [2]
On 4 Dec 1947 Sally Dyer filed for membership with the U.S., Sons of the American Revolution, 1889-1970. Louisville, Kentucky: National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, Microfilm, 508 Rolls. Volume 346. Sally was issued a Sons of American Revolution Membership. [4]
According to the 1850 Census, the Folsom family now had six children and their residence remained in New Sharon, Franklin, Maine. [7]
The 1860 Census shows no change in there residence, but does show a change in the number of children. The family went from six children to five. They added two new children and must have lost one and had a couple leave home. [8]
The 1900 census leave me with a mystery to resolve as Sally's husband is not included in the Census. Yet if you will remember James Folsom and Sally appeared together in 1901 in the City Directory stating he was now at Widow with Sally's death. [6]Franklin D. Folsom is the head of the house in the 1900 Census. [9]
On the 15th of Jul 1901, Sally Dyer Folsom died in Portland, Cumberland, Maine, USA. The City Directory substantiated Sally's date of death and stated at her death she was 84 years of age. [5]
