Elizabeth Smith, born 22 February 1641 at New Haven, Connecticut [1], was a daughter of Ann (Bourne) and Nehemiah Smith Sr. (abt.1605-1686).

Excerpt from page 42 "Hon John Chandler (John, William) and Mary Raymond, Woodstock, Conn. She was born in New London, Conn., 12 March 1671-2. She was the fifth child of Dea. Joshua Raymond, who in 10 Dec. 1652, Elizabeth, dau. of Nehemiah Smith, by his wife Ann Bourn (dau. of Thomas Bourn), who settled at Norwich, 1660, from New Haven, Conn. Dea. Joshua "Rayment" was the oldest son and second child of Richard and Juditch "Rayment," baptized in Salem, Mass., 3 March, 1639. Richard Raymond and his sons left Massachusetts as early as 1658. He was in Norwalk, Conn., 20 Oct. 1664, and was one of the devisees in trust for the Indian Sachem, and he was in Saybrook, Conn., in 1664. His widow Elizabeth was made administrix of his estate in Block Island, 1676."
