Biography

Henry Joseph Alling/Allen was born about 1848 in New Haven, Connecticut. At first, he was called Joseph.^[1] By 1860, they were calling Joseph by his middle name, Henry (11), and added his sister Adelaid (5) to their family.^[2] No more children had been added by 1870.^[3] He married Elizabeth Beatty, twenty years his junior, and they had a family.^[4] He was 92 years old in 1940, living with his granddaughter and her family.^[5] He died sometime after 1940.
