Mary Saloma Barnes, the daughter of Thomas E Barnes, Jr. and Mary Polly Oyler, was born 1 October 1855 in Sumner County, Tennessee. She passed away 10 September 1928 in Tipton, Tillman County, Oklahoma and is buried in the Lone Oak Cemetery in Sayre, Beckham County, Oklahoma.[1]
In the 1860 U.S. Federal Census for Richwoods Township, Lawrence County, Arkansas, the family is listed as:
Mrs. M. Saloma Foreman age 54 of Sayre, Beckham County, Oklahoma and Mr. Solomon Cornelius age 70 of Hendrick, Jackson County, Oklahoma were married 11 February 1909 in Sayre, Oklahoma.[5]
In the 1920 U.S. Federal Census, Tipton, Tillman County, Oklahoma, the couple are listed as:
Mary Cornelius age 65 of Tipton, Oklahoma and Joseph Noah, by occupation a Butcher, age 70 of Tipton, Oklahoma were married 29 March 1927 in Altus, Jackson County, Oklahoma. This record states Mary was married twice before and was a widow.[7]
