Biography
Job Torrey was born about 1788 in Chesterfield, Massachusetts, the son of Joseph and Polly Torrey.
He married Arabella Hamilton in 1812.[1] She was the daughter of Adam and Eleanor (Dewey) Hamilton. They had no known children and she passed away in 1847. The following year he married Susan (Keith) Cudworth.[2] She had married twice before, first to Lott Litchfield in 1804, and secondly to Charles Cudworth in 1822. She was the daughter of Edward and Susanna (Littlefield) Keith.[3]
Job was a farmer and lived in Chesterfield throughout his life. At the time of the 1850 census, he owned real estate valued at $1,000.[4]

Job died in 1865 when he was 77 years old. (His death record says he was 76 years old; his headstone says 77.)[5] He is buried at the Damon Cemetery in Chesterfield.[6]
