Biography
He was born in Sydney to Charles and Mary Coffin. His father Charles was a laborer. Matthew Coffin married Annie Dillon in Halifax, Nova Scotia on 25 April, 1870. At this time Nathan was 24 years old and Annie was 25. He and his wife were residents of Halifax and Matthew was employed as a servant.
