Biography

Alice Matthew was born in about 1510.^[1] Note: This birthdate is believed to be in error. It probably should be about 1475.

Robert ap Lewis Raglan married Alice ferch William ap Robert Mathew and his wife Jane ferch John Gamage.^[2]

Robert & Alice's children were Elinor, Thomas, Ann, John, Morgan, and Catrin.^[2]

Robert Raglan & Alice had seven children:^[3]

1. Thomas Raglan, died in childhood
2. Morgan Raglan, married Catherine Taylor, a widow. "Morgan died prior to the death of his father."

3. Thomas Raglan of Llys-y-Fronydd, gent., married Mary Carne, daughter of Howell Carne of Nash co. Glamorgan. He died 1565. Thomas & Mary had six children.
   1. Lewis Raglan m (1) Cecil Thomas, (2) Mary Mathews
   2. John Raglan(d) m 1564 Alice Kingsonn. John died 1605.
   3. Catherine Raglan m Henry Mathew
   4. Jane Raglan m Thomas ap Griffith
   5. Ann Raglan m Morgan Jenkin Powell
   6. Alice Raglan m Edward Williams
4. Eleanor Raglan m (1) "David Morgan Kemeys", (2) William Thomas
5. Catherine Raglan m Harry ap
6. Mary Raglan m Sir Thomas Morgan, vicar of Pentyrch, co. Hereford
7. Ann Raglan m Thomas ap John Gwynne

Robert also had a base son, John Raglan, who lived at Wenvoe Parish, Glamorgan. He married Mary, daughter of Howel ap Jevan Meyric, and by her had three children, Lewis, Margaret and Joan.
