Biography

From The on-line indexes to record at the PRO:

This is the index reference for the Inquisition P.M. for John Peyton who died in 1440 without offspring, declaring his brother Thomas to be his heir, these are the two sons of this John Peyton as listed above.

Reference:C 139/97/16 Description: Peyton, Thomas de, brother and heir of John, son of John, son of John, esq. Proof of age: Cambs Date: 18 Hen VI Held by: The National Archives, Kew

Some printed pedegrees give Ann Peyton who married Geffrey Lockton as a daughter of John & Grace, however the dates don't work out, Robert Lockton the eldest son of this marriage was born in 1502 being aged 10 at the death of his father he was made ward of Robert Peyton (b 1468), it is far more likely that Ann was the daughter of Thomas Peyton & Jane Calthorpe.
