Biography

Maurice Baker may have been born about 1620 in Northamptonshire, England. He was christened on March 10, 1621 in London England parish. His parents may have been John Baker III (or II) and Priscilla Palmer.

He may have married Joan Greenfield in about 1640.

He immigrated to Virginia in 1651.

Maurice died in about 1660 in Kent Isle, Virginia (now Maryland).

Research Notes

There is a conflict between Maurice's birth date and his mother's. Currently his mother is shown as being born between about 1610 and 1614, with two references, so likely that is correct. Maurice is shown as being born in 1620, with an exact baptism date but no reference. Either his parents are incorrectly listed currently as John Baker III and Priscilla Palmer or his baptism date is incorrect. More research is needed. Marked parents as uncertain until references are found.

Might be a duplicate of John Maurice Baker.

Maurice's grandfather or father might have been Maurice Baker and Joan Smith. Was Maurice's full name John Maurice Baker?[1]

Maurice may have been the son of Maurice Baker I, who was born in County Surry, England and died in Virigina by 1624.[2]
