Elizabeth Argentein was born at Halesworth, Suffolk, England, on 11 May 1411 and baptised there in the church of St Mary on 12 May.[1]

By the time she was 16 years old, Elizabeth was married to William Alyngton, jr, by 4 November 1427 when a Writ was issued to determine the Proof of age in Suffolk of Elizabeth wife of William Alyngton, junior, regarding her inheritance as one of the sisters and heirs of John son of John son of William Argentein, knight, who died a minor in the wardship of Henry V.[1]
