- 1269 approximately Randolph was born in Coverham, Yorkshire, the son of Geoffrey Pigot of Melmorby (living 1291) and Joan (living as a widow in 1310). He had a brother named Roger.
- Sir Randolph Pigot (fl. 1316 - 1340), was Lord of Melmorby, part of Aldborough, and Carleton. Knight of Melmerby and Ripon. [1] & [2]
