George is the son of Richard Cotton and Mary Mainwaring. ^[2] George married Mary Bromley 20 April 1585 at Worfield, Shropshire, England. ^[3]. Mary is the daughter of George and Janne Bromley.^[4]

George Cotton and Mary his wife are found in the Christening record for daughter Elizabeth 04 Feb 1587. ^[5]
