Biography
Borni in Medway, Massachusetts 21 Aug 1718.[1] Married Jemima Sawtelle, daughter of Josiah Sawtelle. They had two daughters, the younger of whom was named Submit Phipps. He was killed by Indians at Great Meadow, 5 July 1745.[2]

Phipps-1954 and Phipps-176 appear to represent the same person because: Same birth date and wife. Death date disagrees, but he was killed by Indians in 1745at the fort at Great Meadows, now Putnam, Vermont. This is well documented in multiple sources. Wife Jemima Sawtelle married twice more, and also must be merged.
