Biography

Jane Frances Kipling, daughter of Joseph Kipling and Frances Lockwood, was born at Horncastle, Lincolnshire in 1839. In 1851, she was living with her family in Gateshead, County Durham, and in i871, she was staying with her sister Ann in Skipton, Yorkshire. At this time, she was still unmarried and working as a teacher.
