Biography

Grove Pomeroy was born April 4, 1789, in New Marlborough, Mass. (the birth was recorded in West Stockbridge) the son of Grove Pomeroy and Eunice Marsh of Hartford, Conn. and later West Stockbridge, Mass.

He married Clarissa Olmsted, about March of 1810, possibly in Canaan, Columbia County, NY. They had five known children: Grove Olmsted (1811), Nancy E. (1819), Hiram (1822), William G. (1823), and Prudy (1830); there may have been others.

The family moved to Indiana before 1840 as they were enumerated that year's census and again in 1850 on a farm in rural Marshall County.

Grove died 31 Oct 1854 in Marshall County, Indiana. He is buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth, not far from the family farm.^[1]
