Biography
Ellen was born on November 2, 1839, in Bethel, Maine. She was the daughter of Hiram T Ellingwood and Lucy A Capen.[1]
She married Stephen E Williamson on September 13, 1855, in Milan, New Hampshire.[2] In about 1898, she moved from Milan to Berlin, New Hampshire.[3] The children of Stephen and Ellen (Ellingwood) Williamson were the following:
- Walter Darwin, b. 11 Mar 1863
- Charles P., b. 13 Oct 1864
- Cassius Claudius, b. 15 May 1875[4]
She died on April 8, 1930, in Berlin, New Hampshire.[5] A memorial exists for her in Hillcrest Cemetery in Milan.[6] Her obituary was published in the Lewiston Daily Sun:[3]
Berlin, N. H. April 9—Mrs. Ellen E. Williamson died at the home of her son Charles at 241 High street Tuesday at the age of almost 90 years. She came to Berlin from Milan 32 years ago. Mrs. Williamson was the widow of Stephen E. Williamson who died several years ago, she was born at Bethel, Oct. 2, 1839, the daughter of Hiram T. and Lucy Ann Capen Ellingwood.
