Probate
Hannibal died intestate and on 3 June 1754, Benjamin Hammond of Rochester was granted the administration of his estate.[3]
His inventory was taken on 21 June 1746, and had been "left in the hands of Mr. James Haward". Mr. Haward delivered them to Elizabeth Handy, eldest daughter of Hannibal who had married Joseph Claghorn. Other items were found in the hands of Isaac Handy of Sandwich and at his daughter Elizabeth's.

In 1756, an account of his estate was recorded which included debts, doctor bills, funeral charges, and legacies to Seth Handy (eldest son), Elizabeth Handy, Nathan Handy, and Hannah Handy.[5]
