- Edward Davis b 1706 Newark, New Castle, DE was the third of seven sons of William Davis b ca 1675 Lurgan, Armagh, Ulster, Ireland. His mother is unknown.
- 12 November 1735 Virginia issued 70 patents in Orange (later Frederick) County, Virginia. The names of 36 of these are in the first chapter of a "History of Hopewell Friends 1734 - 1934" by John W. Wayland. Not all of the 70 patents went to Quakers. Two of our Davis brothers are listed - James and Edward. Their brother William settled this same date in Orange County and probably held one of the unlisted patents.
