Mary was born on 17 August 1635, and christened on 1 September of that year at St Andrew, Holborn, Middlesex England "Mary Newdegate daughter of Richard Newdegate gent and Julyan his wife was baptised in his house in Leaden Porch in High Holborne the first day of September 1635" [1]. [2]
Mary married George Parker about 1652 (according to the inscription on the memorial for George in Willingdon church) but certainly before September 1653 which is when their first child, Thomas Parker, was born.
Mary died at Radbourne in Derbyshire - this is where her sister, Anne, lived - on 27 October 1708 and was buried there on 4 November 1708 - the parish register records - Maria Parker of Jevington in the county of Sussex, second daughter of Richard Newdigate and widow of George Parker of Ratton in the parish of Willingdon in the aforesaid county, Armigeri; and dear sister of Anna Pole, widow, died 27 October 1708; buried 4 November 1708.
As a result of researching her father Richard Newdigate it has been necessary to amend Mary's profile details. Previously she was noted to have been born in Ratton Sussex in 1631, but there is a clear source for her christening in Holborn, Middlesex as above in 1635. There is an earlier date for the christening of another daughter named Mary, but the naming of this daughter with the same name suggests that the earlier Mary died in infancy.(Kennedy-14080 17:14, 26 June 2020 (UTC))
