Biography
Tabitha King was born 28 March 1682 in Lynn, MA, a daughter of Capt Ralph King and Elizabeth Walker. [1]
Tabitha married William Stacey of Marblehead about 17 April 1702, the date on which their intentions were recorded at Lynn. [2]
Interestingly, for unknown reasons she is shown in Torrey's "New England Marriages" as "Mrs. Tabitha King", although King seems clearly to have been her maiden name... and age 20 would seem very young to have been the widow of a lost husband. Tabitha Stacey died at Marblehead in February of 1722; it is likely, though not certain, that her husband is the William Stacey of Marblehead who married the widow Mary (Lindsey) Holton the following year.
