Mehitable Bailey died 2 Oct. 1721, then her husband John Bailey, Jr. died four days later on 6 Oct. 1721, at age 30. They were buried in Granary Burying Ground, in Boston, MA.[3] Administration of his estate was granted 16 Oct. 1721 to John Dixwell and John Staniford of Boston, MA.[4] On 20 July 1722, they presented an inventory of his estate, consisting of 76 pounds for personal property and 135 pounds in bonds.[5] A final accounting for the estate was published in 1730.[6]
Guardianship of John Bailey’s orphan children was granted 23 July 1722 in Suffolk County, MA, noting them as William, aged about 7 years, Benjamin, aged about 6 years, John, aged about 4 years and Sarah, aged about 2 years.[7]
In 1740, William Bailey, tailor, John Bailey, cordwainer, both of Haverhill, MA, Sarah Bailey, spinster, of Woburn, MA and Benjamin Bailey, shipwright, of Boston, MA sold land in Rowley, MA “formerly of our uncle Ezekiel Mighill,” to Nathaniel Mighill and to Daniel Tenny (two transactions).[8]
