Biography

Henry Banaster or Banester of the Bank in Bretherton, Lancashire,^[1][2] (d. 1617),^[3] was the first son of:^[1]

• William Banaster of the Bank,^[1]
• and Christian, dau. of Ralph Ashton, Esq. of Leaver, Lancashire.^[1]

He married three times to:

1. Alice Cuerden or Kuerden
2. Anne Anderton
3. Ellen Standish.

Cuerden

Henry's first wife Alice Cuerden, was d. & coh. of John Cuerden of Cuerden, Lancashire.^[1][2]

Their only child Alice Banaster,^[1][2] was married to Sir Thomas Haggerston, Bart. of Haggerston Castle in Northumberland.^[2] Haggerston was created baronet in 1643, and was the son of:^[2]

Anderton

Visitations (1664/5), asserts that Henry died in c. 1614,^[1] but Farrer & Brownbill (1911), state that he died in c. 1617 and that his son and heir Henry, was a one-year-old child in that year.^[3]
