Biography

The father of Thomas Trowbridge was identified by Charles Fitch Northen as John Trowbridge of Taunton in his article in the The Genealogist.^[1] He is said to have left records from 1525 to 1545, though the article fails to provide details.

Common Errors to Avoid

• Incorrect parents: It can be found on the internet that the parents of John Trowbridge of Taunton were John Thomas Trowbridge and Ann Alice Eland. This is incorrect. First, there is no evidence to support the assertion. Second, given that no one in this time period had a middle names it is safe to say these people with these names are complete inventions and internet errors.
