The MacLeans of Achnasaul were ruined by Coll's struggles with Argyle in the 1670s. In January of 1679 75 cows were stolen from Hector by Brolas's men. Later that same month he lost his remaining 40 cows to a raid by the Camerons of Lochiell.[1]
Hector had four known sons; Lachlan, Alexander, Donald & John. MacLean Sinclair, p. 397, claims that Hectors descendants settled in Ireland.
