Johannes Carl Barolin was clearly involved in various business enterprises during his life but also devoted much time to other not-necessarily-remunerated activities.

In 1904 and 1905 he was Austrian representative, selling products from his home address at Apollogasse 8, Wien VII, for a Swiss chemical firm based in Basel. cf. newspaper advertisements shown under "Media".

Place of birth: Laibach, Duchy Krain/Herzogtum Krain (Kronland), Austrian Empire/Kaisertum Österreich, since 1904 until 1967, when it became the 'Doppelmonarchie' Austria-Hungary.
