Biography
Elisha Strout was born on 29 May 1790 in Limington, Maine. His parents were Simeon Strout and Mercy (Laha) Strout[1].
He married Mary Hagens on 30 March 1817 in Limington[2]. They had eight children[3]:
- 1. Mary Hagens, born 19 Sep 1817; married George Cleaves
- 2. Simeon Lake, born 22 Feb 1819; married 1st Almira Bradley, 2nd Mary Woodruff
- 3. Walter Hagens, born 22 Feb 1819; married 1st Frances Burnham, 2nd Fannie (Wilson) Stevens
- 4. Bennett Pike, born 10 Apr 1821; married Jacynthia Woodruff
- 5. Ann Maria, born 25 Apr 1823; died 1845
- 6. Henry, born 1 Aug 1825; died 1847
- 7. Emeline Louisa, born 28 Jan 1828; died 1846
- 8. Almon Augustus, born 8 May 1835; married Mary Sumner
Elisha passed away on 27 September 1872[4] in Sweden, Maine[5].
