Biography
Wingate Frost was born on 3 September 1768 in Falmouth (now Cape Elizabeth, Maine). His parents were James Frost and Love (Wingate) Frost[1].
He married Elizabeth Mitchell on 8 July 1790 in Standish, Maine. They had four children[2]:
- 1. James Wingate, born 6 Jun 1791; married Nancy Davis
- 2. Nancy, born 7 Jul 1793
- 3. Eunice, born 24 Sep 1795; died young
- 4. Esther, born 9 Jan 1797; married Simeon Strout
Elizabeth passed away in 1799, and Wingate married her sister Anna Mitchell on 9 March 1800 in Limington, Maine[3]. They had eight children[4]:
- 1. Oliver, born 4 Jun 1801; married Caroline King Warren
- 2. Eunice, born 7 Jul 1803; married Josiah Davis
- 3. Mary F., born 24 Dec 1806; married Joshua Small
- 4. Elizabeth, born 2 Oct 1810; married Abram Winslow
- 5. Nancy, born 12 Sep 1813; married William Cobb Pillsbury
- 6. Mitchell, born 2 May 1816
- 7. Joshua Wingate, born 9 Mar 1819; married Mary Higgin Whitmore
- 8. Zelinda Wing, born 26 Jun 1825
Wingate passed away on 9 March 1856 and is buried in Limington Village Cemetery in Limington[5].
