From "The Wights A Record of Thomas Wight" (Wight, 1890):
Nathan Wight, born October 23, 1773, lived in Otisfield on the opposite side of the road from his father. He married in Otisfield in 1798, Abigail, sister of Betty Hancock. Abigail was born in Wrentham, June 14, 1776. Nathan was a farmer, lumberman, blacksmith, and locksmith. He was also a tanner, the first in Otisfield to tan in pits. He exhibited great energy in all his enterprises and accumulated quite a fine property for his day in the backwoods of Maine. Nathan died July 22, 1854, Abigail died February 25, 1824 - both in Otisfield.
