Biography
Richard Brain Scriven was baptised on 25 December 1870 in Gloucester by parents Worthy and Sarah. Worthy was a labourer. [1] HIs mother's maiden name was Bennett. [2] His father died the following year and his mother remarried to George Gardner and had at least another 3 children.
In 1898 Richard Brain Scrivens and Mary Jane Richards married. Their marriage was registered in Pontypridd, Glamorgan. [3]
In 1911 Richard and Mary were living at 13 Kennard St Ynysboeth, Llanwonno, Glamorgan with 6 children. Richard was a Miner (Ripper) in a Colliery. [4]
