Biography
James Farquharson is a member of Clan Farquharson.
James was second son to Finlay Mhor and his Stuart wife. James studied at university graduating a Master of Arts, purchased the Castleton of Braemar,
Master James married the laird of Nean’s daughter. They had three daughters. Mr James killed his cousin Donald in Coldrach in a dispute over the marches of their lands.[1]
He appears as notary public in Nov 1553 when drawing up the charter of sale of lands in Strathnairn by Alexander Doles of Cantray in favour of Thomas Narne of Cromdale.[2]
