Biography

Granville C. Brown, son of Stephen Brown and Aseneth Womack, was born in December 1893 in Warren County, Tennessee. He passed away on 18 November 1979 in Temple, Bell County, Texas^[1] and is buried in Salado Cemetery, Bell, Texas.^[2]

Granville's birth date is somewhat uncertain. Different sources give different dates:

• Find A Grave Memorial #48399943 - headstone shows 19 Nov 1895

The 1900 census is the earliest source found and was entered presumably by a parent since Granville was only 6 years old at the time. That date is December 1893. Please note in the list below that his brother Arthur has a birth date of June 1892 and his brother Harold June 1895. The December 1893 date fits appropriately, not too close to Arthur or Harold. A November or December 1894 date would be too close to Harold, as would a November 1895 date. For these reasons, it is going to be assumed that his birth date is 18 December 1893.
