Biography
Thelma Jesse Martin was born May 2, 1904[1] to Jesse Martin and Lily Ann (Adams) Martin. Thelma's parents were very tall; her mother was 6 foot tall and very statuesque. Thelma got the hidden genes in the family; 5 foot 5 and curvaceous.
She was the oldest of 4 children, and when her father died, she helped her mother raise her younger siblings. Her brother Garland contracted polio and was an additional burden when the oldest son usually helped support the family.
Thelma married Jack Thomas Cash in 1927.
They only ever had one child, Anna Jean Cash [later Anna Jeanne (Cash) Ewing].
Thelma passed away New Years, 1980 and was buried at Grove Hill Cemetery with her husband and daughter.[2]
