Elizabeth Legh died from complications of childbirth.
Elizabeth Legh, was the daughter of Piers Legh of Lyme, Cheshire.[1][2] Baines (1836), asserts that her mother was Anne, dau. of Sir John Savile of Howley, Yorkshire.[3]
Elizabeth was married to Richard Standish (1621-62).[1][2]
An arranged marriage took place in 1647 between Elizabeth and Colonel Richard Standish in order to save the Standish estate which was heavily in debt (as a result in part of the costs of fighting for Cromwell in the English Civil War.) [4]
Elizabeth died after a difficult child birth in 1661 [4]
