Margaret Fuller married James Hobday in 1854 in Dover. She had 4 known children during her marriage.
In 1874 her family emigrated under the sponsorship of the Kent Agricultural Workers Union to New Zealand in 1874. Her eldest daughter Ellen, in domestic service, remained in England. The family sailed on the ship William Davie arriving at Bluff in 1874.
Margaret and james settled in Makerewa township in Southland for a time and later Riverton.
In 1905, Margaret passed away aged 77 at the home of her son-in-law, William Arthur, Leckhampton Court, Caversham Rise, in Dunedin.
Margaret's burial location is unknown.
