William Dance was enumerated as head of the household in Civil Districts 6, 14, Franklin County, Tennessee for the June 6, United States Census, 1900. He was noted as a farmer and born February 1859 in Tennessee. He had been married twenty years and was an owner as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Maggie Dance, son George P Dance, daughter Sarah A Dance and son Willam T Dance.^[1]

William S Dance was enumerated as head of the household at Civil District 6, Franklin County, Tennessee for the May 9, United States Census, 1910. He was noted as born 1859 in Tennessee and had been married thirty years. He was a farmer on a general farm and an owner as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Maggie Dance, son George P Dance, son Thomas W Dance and son Loid Dance.^[2]

1920 - Civil District 25, Bedford County, Tennessee

W. S. Dance was listed as the husband of Maggie Gore Dance who died December 6, 1940 in Normandy, Bedford County, Tennessee. The father was listed as Tommie Gore and the mother Alice Shofner.^[3]

William Shaw Dance is buried at Smith Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Tullahoma, Moore County, Tennessee.^[4]
