According to the 1850 U.S. Census Martha was born about 1786 in New Hampshire. ^[1] She passed away before 1867.

Researcher Note

Further confirmation is needed, but Hugh Stewart married Martha Jane Luce in Farmington, Kennebec, Maine. Their daughter Emmeline Tilton Stewart was born 25 Sep 1812 in Farmington, and married William Anderson Jr. on 9 Sep 1831 in Sangerville, Piscataquis, Maine. All indications are that Hugh died sometime around 1840 when the Marriage Notice for Stephen Dexter and Mrs. Martha Stewart was recorded.
