Biography
Allen was the son of James and Rebecca King. The 1860 US Census indicates that he was born in Tennessee but his family was then living in District 1, Lauderdale, Alabama. At some point the family moved back to Tennessee and settled in Henderson County area.
Marriages
Allen King was married to Paralee J. Bell by 1878 when their first child was born. Children born to this marriage: Joseph Samuel, Ivol L., Lenore Myrtle, and Bodie M. King. Paralee died in 1888, leaving Allen with four young children to raise.
He quickly married again to Margarette "Annie" King in 1888. In addition to this marriage year, Information given in the 1900 US Census indicates the family had relocated to Marshall Co., MS. Besides raising three children from his first marriage, the couple had additional children of their own. This writer did not research them.
The Rev. Allen Green King died October 28, 1925. Burial is in Friendship Cemetery, Ashland, Benton Co., Mississippi. [1]
