Biography of Paolo "Paul" GENNARO of 1886

Paolo "Paul" Gennaro was born in or near Palermo, Sicilia, Italia, in October 24, 1886, the son of Salvatore Gennaro and his wife Antonina Unknown Gennaro.

Paolo "Paul" Gennaro was one of at least two siblings:

1. Paolo "Paul" Gennaro
2. Antonino "Anthony" Gennaro

Paul Gennaro married Theresa "Teresina" Centanni before on June 2, 1910 in the City of New Orleans, Lousiana, USA. Teresa is listed as the daughter of Rosario Centanni. Her mother's name is spelled incorrectly on their marriage certificate. Instead of Liboria Giuseppa Guccione, the name "Victoria Vitunia" is given, and probably was a spelling guess by the clerk who could not understand the Italian accent.

Paul Gennaro and his wife Teresa had four children, including:

1. Antoinette "Netti" Gennaro who married Sam Sabella, had children was widowed, and who died in August 3, 1980 in Metairie, Louisiana. She was named for her father's mother.
2. Lillia Gennaro, born about 1919 and drowned January 3, 1921. She was named for her mother's mother, Liboria "Lillia" Giuseppa Guccione.
3. 4. Ross Gennaro, born before 1921, and named for Antonino "Rosario" Centanni, his mother's father.
4. Antonio P. "Tony" Gennaro, born 1920, who moved to New Jersey, but came back to New Orleans where he passed away in September 1958.

Paul Gennaro was widowed with the death of his wife Theresa Centanni Gennaro in January 13, 1921, shortly after baby Lillia drowned.

Paul Gennaro married a second time at age 35 to Mary Magdelena "Lena" Bua Gennaro, widow of his brother Anthony Gennaro, on June 9, 1921, five months after the death of his first wife Teresa Centanni. They were married in the City of New Orleans, and raised the blended families together. Mary Magdelena is the daughter of Joseph Bua and Bruna-|Santa Bruna]], and both parites are "white".

Additional children of Paul Gennaro. This daughter may be a step-daughter or a daughter from his second marriage.

He had blue eyes and black hair and light skin. HIs race is listed as "white". He was 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighed 141 pounds. His occupation is listed as East Jefferson Water Works, #1, Arnault Road, Jefferson Highway, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. The serial number on the record is # 1777. The rear of his registration card notes his Naturalization records # 1383998, processed in the U.S. District Court, New Orleans, Louisiana on March 14, 1921.

Paul Gennaro passed away September 15, 1958 in New Orleans, Lousiana and is buried in Carrollton Avenue Cemetery, also known as St. Mary Cemetery, on Carrollton Avenue in New Orleans. His first wife Theresa is buried in nearby tomb with her baby Lillia, her father Antonino Rosario Centanni, her daughter Antoinette "Netti" Gennaro Sabella and other family members.
