Biography

Born in Connecticut. Married September 30, 1846, at Litchfield, Connecticut. Moved with her husband before 1851 to Syracuse, New York, then before 1857 to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Widowed in 1862 during the Sioux War. In 1865, she is listed as Helen S. Stone, living in Minneapolis, with her husband, who had been deceased for three years by that time. [Minnesota State Censuses have a reputation for overstating the numbers of residents for purposes of statehood and other political reasons.]

This lists her birhplace as "New York." She is also listed as having the last name Wilson here, and as living with her daughter and son-in-law. Age listed as 65.

[1] = the Minnesota state census for 1905. She is listed with last name Wilson, Helen R., living with her daughter and son-in-law at 1704 Mount Curve Ave., Minneapolis. She is listed then as being 75 years old, and she, and both of her parents as having been born in Connecticut. I believe that she must have got re-married after the early death of her husband.
