Biography

Solomon was the son of Robert Stow and Mary "Polly" Littleton, later Wilson.

In 1850 he was living in his mother's household in Roane County.

He married Matilda Jones 10 Sep 1851 in Roane County, Tennessee.^[2]

In 1860 he and Matilda were living in Rock Creek, Hancock, Illinois with children Mary, age 8; Harriet, age 6; Malinda, age 4; Martha, age 2, Maria, infant and John L Coatny, age 19, b. Va. Solomon was enumerated as Samuel Stowe.^[3]

Solomon lived in Rock Creek, Hancock, Illinois for the rest of his life.

In 1870 he was aged 38. Wife Matilda C. Stowe was aged 37. They were living with 8 children plus William J. Jones, age 24, b. Tennessee (probably Matilda's relative).^[4]

He was aged 48 in 1880. Matilda was aged 47. Daughter Lucinda was age 18. Daughter Ellen was age 13. Son Robert F. was age 11. Son John G. was age 8. Son George W. was age 6.^[5]

In 1900 Solomon was living with his divorced daughter Martha Tift and her daughter Alberta.^[6]
