Biography
Mary Harvey was Baptised at Croyden on 3 September 1629. She was the daughter of Daniel Harvey a London merchant and member of the Levant Company; and his wife Elizabeth Kynnersley.
In 1645, she married her cousin and father's former apprentice, William Hauke; this was without her father's consent, and it was quickly annulled
In 1648 she married at the church of St Bartholemew the Less, Smithfield, London; Edward Dering, 2nd Baronet. [1]
She was probably the first woman in England whose musical compositions were published under her own name. [2]
She died in 1704.
Issue 17 children of whom 10 survived to adulthood: 5 sons, 5 daughters. [3] & [4]
