Dame Dorothy Musgrave formerly James was born in 1649 in Washington, Durham, England the daughter of William James. She married Richard Musgrave 2nd Bt on January 18, 1669 in Washington, Durham, England. They were the parents of Dorothy (Musgrave) Hylton and Richard Musgrave 3rd Bt. Dame Dorothy died December 12, 1718 in Hayton Castle, Cumbria, England
