Biography

Daughter of James and Mary (Dolan) Harrihan / Hanrahan.

Patrick and Mary (Harahan) Roan / Roane married in Lowell, MA (6 Feb 1853) and their first child was born there, a daughter, Celia Miranda Roane (b. 21 Oct 1853).

The family was in Burlington, Des Moines, IA when their son, James Bernard Roan was born about 1855 and died young. In 1856 Patrick purchased 80 acres of land from the US government.* They settled to farm in a small community of Irish immigrants, Georgetown, Monroe, Iowa.

Other known children: Rose Ann (b. 1860), Peter F. (b. 1863), Margaret T. (b. 1865), Edward Patrick (b. 1868), James Bernard (b. 1869).

She is shown living in the household of her son James in the 1910 US census in Wayne, Iowa^[1]
