Freelove Ann (Peckham) Smith (also recorded occasionally as Truelove) was born 8 Aug 1824 in Walpole, Massachusetts to James Peckham born at Newport, Rhode Island and Nancy Holmes born at Plymouth, Massachusetts.[1] She died in Gloucester, Massachusetts on 18 May 1905. She lies buried in the Langsford Cemetery Gloucester, Essex County, Massachusetts.[2][1]

On 15 June, 1871 the Gloucester marriage records record the marriage of Freelove's son, Charles C. Smith (22 and a stonecutter) with Mary A. Griffin, both of Gloucester. Charles was born in Boston, while Mary had been born in Gloucester. Charles' parents were Charles and Freelove Ann Smith. Her parents were listed as Enos and Mary W. Fitz Griffin.[7]
Freelove A (Peckham) Smith died on 18 May 1900 at Gloucester, Massachusetts at the age of 75 years 9 months and 11 days (consistent with her date of birth of 8 Aug 1824). She is widowed and her deceased husband is listed as Charles Smith. Death was caused by heart failure. She was born in Walpole, Massachusetts to James Peckham born at Newport, Rhode Island and Nancy Holmes born at Plymouth, Massachusetts.[8][9]
The 1900 city directory provided a similar record of Freelove's death in 1900. It also shows her son, Charles C. Smith, a stonecutter, lived at 8 Duley Street, Lanesville village, Gloucester town, Essex county, Massachusetts. This house is just off the harbor at Lane's Cove.[10]
