Otto was born in Hanover, Saskatchewan,[1] on 9 February 1924.[2]
Otto was raised on several different farms in the Drake and Hanley area before moving six miles east of Lockwood, Saskatchewan in 1934. He and his brothers, Otto and Paul, attended Boulder Lake School. In 1937 they moved to a farm east and south of Drake. They attended Kneller School. His father died in 1939 from a stroke. Otto joined the navy during World War II. After the war. he attended the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. He graduated with a Commerce Degree. He joined the Bank of Commerce and worked for them until his retirement in 1984. They then lived in Winnipeg.
Otto married Clara 'Jean' Linklater on and they had one daughter. Otto died in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on 18 February 2009. He was buried in Cloverdale United Church Cemetery in Cloverdale, Manitoba. [1][2]
