Biography

Experience Severance, daughter of Matthew and Experience, was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts on Mar 6, 1777. ^[1]

Experience Severance and Richard "Esen" were married in Leyden, Massachusetts on Sep 2, 1797. ^[2]

She died in New Haven, New York in 1835 ^{[citation needed]} and is buried at New Haven Cemetery in that town. ^[3] [Death date is attested by Find A Grave, needs confirmation.]

Experience's death date is not certain. Three dates have been published.

1) It is listed as 24 Aug 1828 in the Severans Genealogy of 1893, the Severance Genealogy of 1995, and the History of Deerfield, 1895. This date is most likely incorrect since there appears in Richard's 1830 census enumeration a Female aged 50 to 59 which is most likely Experience.

2) It is listed as 22 June 1835 in Earle Millard Cass' SAR Application, National Number 63752. He does not specify his source for this specific piece of information.

3) It is listed as 22 June 1837 by the Half-Shire Historical Society. No source specified.
