Biography

Notes

In the 1861 Canadian census[1], Abraham is 19 years old, living with his parents (although his mother is listed as Jane) and six siblings, and working as a labourer.

The family are still together in the 1871 census[2], except for his brother, Peter, who died in the preceding year[3]. Abraham is now a farmer, like his father.

Birth

Date is taken from baptism record[4]

I've been told that he was probably born across the river in Renfrew but was baptised in the "mission register" of Alymer, which was very common in those days. Hampson-204 21:48, 2 January 2016 (EST)
