Biography

Susan Margaret Stephens was born 3 Jul 1855. The death record stated she was born in Mississippi. The 1860 census stated she was born in Alabama. The 1880 and 1900 census stated she was born in Mississippi.

She is the youngest known child of William B. and Lucinda Stephens. She was enumerated as Sasan M T Stephens, age 4, in the 1860 census residing with older siblings in Itawamba County Mississippi. The census stated that she and the next four youngest siblings were born in Alabama. The family had resided in neighboring Marion County Alabama for the 1850 census.^[1] Her names was listed as Margaret in the 1880 and 1900 census.

She died 29 Dec 1927 in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee. The Tennessee death record of Susan Margaret Stephens Stevens stated her parents were William Stephens and Luicindia Oglesby.^[2]
