Biography

Edmond [Edward] Tynt was born in Wraxall, Somerset, England to Edward Tynt of Wraxall and Anne Parmenter.[1][2][3][4] Based on the birth of his youngest of seven children in 1571, Edmond may have been born around 1530-1540.

Edmond married Elizabeth, daughter of John Panther of Keynsham, Somerset.[1][2]

Their children were:

  1. Edmund, born 1564, died 1570.[1][2][3]
  2. John, born 1565, of Middle Temple (married Rebecca Stephens).[1][2]
  3. Edward, born 1570 (married Anne Gorges).[1][2]
  4. William, died 1650.[1][2][4]
  5. Florence (married Thomas Sheppard).[1]
  6. Dorothy (married William Harbord).[1]
  7. Robert, born 1571 (married ? and then Elizabeth Boyle).[1][2][3][4]

Welply indicates that his will was dated 25 Aug 1570.[1] (His son Robert, born March 1571, would have been born after Edmond had died.) However Burke indicates that he was still living in 1585[3] or 1591,[2] and it was his same-name grandfather that died in 1570.[2] In either case, he was not living in 1623 at the time of the Visitation of Somerset.[4]
